To promote transportation as well as recreation, Hot Springs is taking steps to make its urban center more bicycle friendly for citizens and tourists.
The City applied for and received an Energy Efficiency Block Grant from ARRA funds to aid in implementation of the City’s Trails Master Plan. The funding received is being used to establish four numbered and signed bike routes. Shared Lane markings, or “sharrows”, have been installed in the segment of Central Avenue near Bathhouse Row to encourage cycling and close this “gap” in the network.
